How it works

Calculate the price per unit and units per currency unit from a total price and quantity.

Formula

Unit price = price ÷ quantity; units per currency = quantity ÷ price.

Q
Quantity (units)

Examples

  • 12 for a pack of 8Price 12 · quantity 81.50 per unit · ≈ 0.667 units per 1.00

Frequently asked questions

Why is unit price useful?

It lets you compare differently sized packages to find which is the better value.

What units can I use?

Any consistent unit — count, weight, or volume. The result is expressed per single unit of whatever you entered.

How to read the result

A lower unit price means better value per unit. Units-per-currency is the inverse view of the same ratio.

Limitations

Assumes quantity is measured in units of the same size. It does not weight quality, weight, or per-serving differences.
