How it works
Convert between bits and storage units (B, KB, MB, GB, TB).
Enter an amount and the source and target units. The calculator converts through bytes using binary (1024-based) definitions.
Formula
Result = amount × (from unit in bytes) ÷ (to unit in bytes).
amount- Quantity (any storage unit)
from/to- Storage units (bit, B, KB, MB, GB, TB)
Examples

Frequently asked questions
Binary or decimal?
Binary (1 KB = 1024 B), the convention for memory and file sizes. Networking may use decimal (1000-based) figures.
How many bits in a byte?
8 bits = 1 byte.
How to read the result
Storage units scale by a factor of 1024 per step (B → KB → MB → GB → TB).
Limitations
Binary units only; it does not model disk formatting overhead or decimal SI units.
