How it works
Convert length, mass, volume, area, angle and temperature between metric and imperial units.
Enter a value and choose the source and target units within the same category. Length, mass, volume, area and angle use exact linear factors; temperature uses the standard affine formulas. For frequent cases, focused pages remain available: kg↔lb, height (ft/in↔cm), cooking measures, data storage, and Celsius↔Fahrenheit.
Formula
Result = value × factor(from) ÷ factor(to), where each factor expresses a unit in the category's base unit; temperature: °C = K − 273.15, °F = K × 9/5 − 459.67.
v- Input value (any)
from/to- Source and target units (same category)
Examples
- 1 kg to lbValue 1 · kg → lb≈ 2.2046 lb
- 180 degrees to radiansValue 180 · deg → rad≈ 3.1416 rad
Frequently asked questions
Which categories are supported?
Length, mass, volume, area, angle (degrees, radians, gradians, turns) and temperature (C, F, K).
Can I convert across categories?
No. Both units must belong to the same family; that prevents meaningless results such as kilograms to litres.
How to read the result
All non-temperature categories are linear, so one factor describes the whole scale. Temperature is affine, so a value and a temperature difference convert differently.
Limitations
No currency, cooking-ingredient density or binary data prefixes — those have dedicated calculators.
