How it works
Convert correct answers out of total questions into a percentage and letter grade.
Enter the number of correct answers and the total questions. The calculator computes the percentage score and maps it to a letter grade on the standard US scale.
Formula
Score % = correct ÷ total × 100; letter grade: A ≥ 90, B ≥ 80, C ≥ 70, D ≥ 60, else F.
c- Correct answers (count)
t- Total questions (count)
Examples
- 18 correct out of 20Correct 18 · total 2090% · letter grade A
Frequently asked questions
What about partial credit?
This counts whole correct answers only. For partial credit, add fractional points to the correct count.
Is the letter grade universal?
It uses the common US scale. Schools may use different thresholds — follow your syllabus.
How to read the result
The percentage is the share of questions answered correctly; the letter grade is a convenience summary.
Limitations
Whole-question scoring with a single US letter-grade scale; no weighting or curves.
