How it works
Compute a semester or cumulative GPA on the 4.0 scale from letter grades and credit hours.
Enter your letter grades and credit hours as comma-separated lists. The calculator converts each letter grade to grade points, multiplies by credit hours, and divides by the total credits.
Formula
GPA = Σ(grade points × credit hours) ÷ Σ(credit hours).
gᵢ- Grade points for course i (4.0 scale) (points)
cᵢ- Credit hours for course i (hours)

Does this include weighting?
No. This is an unweighted GPA. Honors, AP, or IB weighting varies by school and is not applied.
How to read the result
Higher-credit courses count more heavily toward the average. The result is an unweighted GPA, not an official transcript value.
Limitations
Uses a single US 4.0 scale with no plus/minus variation by institution and no weighting. Follow your school's published policy for official figures.
