How it works
Find the slope, percentage grade, and incline angle of the line through two points.
Enter two points (x₁, y₁) and (x₂, y₂). The calculator computes the slope (rise over run), the percentage grade, and the incline angle.
Formula
Slope = (y₂ − y₁) ÷ (x₂ − x₁); grade = slope × 100; angle = atan(slope) in degrees.
x₁,y₁- First point (coordinates)
x₂,y₂- Second point (coordinates)

Frequently asked questions
What if the line is vertical?
A vertical line (x₁ = x₂) has an undefined slope, so the calculator rejects it.
What is the percent grade?
Grade is the slope expressed as a percentage — commonly used for roads and ramps.
How to read the result
A positive slope rises left-to-right; a negative slope falls. The angle is the line's incline from horizontal.
Limitations
Two-point linear slope only; it does not fit a line through more points.
